Be Bold, Be Different, Be Odd…
For many years I was privileged to work as a museum curator in some of the most wonderful and prestigious locations around the UK. This combined with many years’ as an experienced antiques collector and dealer, means that during my travels over the years I have managed to source some wonderful, individual, and decorative items. Expect something a bit special, and a bit unusual.

So…what is Vintage?
Vintage items tend to be younger in age, less than 100 years old and typically have a collectors appeal. Normally, an item has to be at least 40 years of age to be considered vintage, however, sometimes it may be less. Many vintage items are considered nostalgic.
Mid Century Modern (MCM)
This is a period currently much sought after by collectors and dealers encompassing the 1950s-1970s. It is popular amongst younger generations looking for strong design appeal to furnish their homes, possibly reminiscent of the Space Age from the 1960s. Objects are sought after for many reasons besides their age. It could be to inject a ‘wow’ factor into decorating a home, perhaps with a touch of colour or with a cool vintage chandelier.
Ultimately, every era has its own appeal and personality, which is why every collector or gift hunter can always find a piece that represents their individual taste, or their loved one’s taste and style. Ultimately, it is the pure joy and excitement of finding that special piece. That is the real buzz of foraging for antiques!

As our gift range has many pre-loved and vintage items, please be aware that they are NOT always in perfect condition. They may have a few signs of wear and tear that come with owning a vintage item. It is important, therefore, to look at our photos for any imperfections. If you are in any doubt, please contact us before you purchase.
