Beautiful example of classical aestheticism in the form of a small, vintage, bust of the celebrated Venus de Milo, inscribed on the front as ‘Venere de Milo’. Venus de Milo is also known as Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of Love.

Believed to be by renowned Italian sculptor, Gino RUGGERI. Ruggeri was working as a sculptor from the 1930s up to the 1970s.

It is a composite probably made of alabaster and resin or ceramic over a metal base. It is very well made with lovely detail, particularly the hair and elegant facial features. It is a good solid weight and attached to a stand.

It is a great conversation piece and would look good in a cabinet display, in an office or library setting. For its age it’s in good condition with a lovely patina including a few scratches and minor marks commensurate with its age. This would make a fabulous gift.
