19th Century Meerschaum Pipe With Amber Stem & Original Case.

£75.00

19th century Meerschaum pipe by Ludwig Hartmann & Eidam, Wier with amber stem and contained within its original case. The pipe stem has a wonderful, the patina gained steadily over time from the heat of smoking.

The pipe and box are in good condition. The case closes securely to protect the pipe. Internally the case has part velvet lining. Stamped on part of the interior in an oval logo: 'Ludwig Hartmann & Eidam, Wien'. It is Viennese, Austrian, c1850-1880.

A fantastic display piece or maybe an unusual pipe to smoke, it also would make a great gift. There is a similar example in the Science Museum Wellcome Collection.
